Walk-up House

Duplex for communal living.
Corner terrace remodelled into a duplex consisting of lower guest studios/ home office + upper maisonette, referencing shophouses with walk-up units within the Joo Chiat neighbourhood. The staircase was relocated to abutt the neighbouring wall in a linear passageway similar to walk-up apartments. An internal courtyard is then inserted underneath the staircase right through the length of the house, bringing cross ventilation to the suites at the lower level.
